Background Reading

Baltics 2005

  • The heart of Tallinn Old Town
These photos are from my fascinating experience traveling through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia for a road tour of speaking engagements organized by Baltic Marketing (a magazine). Meandering around each city's "old town" areas was incredible.

Dubai 2006

  • Flight home
My trip to Dubai for a presentation to the Gulf Marketing Review magazine's Marketing to Women conference, November 2006.

Tag, I'm It

Dave tagged me. (and, many thanks for calling me "one of the most human voices on the Internet.")

This is a classic.  Sure, I am a blogger, but I may be about the most low-tech and oblivious one out there.  I had not heard about this game of blogosphere tag, but apparently it has been going on for weeks.  I hope I do this right...

Here are the requisite five things most people do not know about me:

1) May Sarton's Journal of a Solitude is my favorite book.

2) I have two older sisters and a younger brother.

3)  I got kicked out of prep school (Choate Rosemary Hall) - long story.

4) My first "real" job was in public relations for the international division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

5) I used to boogie board (in a thick, full-body wetsuit, of course) at Ecola State Park on the Oregon coast.

Rules of this game dictate that I now tag five people to carry on the game.  Here are my choices:

1) Kelly Groves Dignan - a good friend from my UMich days whom I greatly admire for stepping back from a successful entrepreneurial life, and toward the building of PursueU, her coaching business for young women heading into college or careers.

2) Todd Sattersten - many of you know him through 800CEORead.com, but he also keeps a personal blog at Astronaut Projects.

3) Ann Handley - fellow dog-mom-o-rama and content queen for MarketingProfs.com and their Daily Fix blog.

4) John Moore - author of Tribal Knowledge and Brand Autopsy blogger, who I just met at the 800CEORead pow-wow in Chicago.

5) Gavin Heaton - fellow MarketingProfs Daily Fix contributor and a "Movember" moustache/mustache grower.
